New
Covenant Productions (NCP) began in April 1979 when
the founder, Mike Clark, had a burning desire to
help bring contemporary Christian music to the youth
of his community, located in Plainfield, Indiana.
With careful planning and prayer, he began the ministry
that summer, using local artists in a series of
events planned to take place outdoors on the main
street
of Plainfield. God had a different idea --
all of the concerts were forced indoors by rain that
summer.
Mike's dream never wavered. The following Spring, he
began promoting concerts at his local high school
auditorium. The first concert at the high school
was with a then well-known artist, Sandi Patty. NCP
forged ahead and eventually brought bands such as
DeGarmo & Key, the Joe English Band, and Leon
Patillo to their small community. Gradually,
Mike Clark gained the attention of Christian booking
agents, and the phone rang constantly with agents
trying to book their acts with NCP.
The dream that God gave Mike Clark grew and God provided an opportunity to
become involved in promotion on a national level. NCP, while maintaining
its Plainfield base, became involved in concert promotion in a variety of locations
across the country.
Today, NCP produces over 50 concerts annually to the Midwest
and South. States include Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky,
Nebraska, New Mexico, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee
and West Virginia. NCP is also involved in consulting
with numerous Christian youth conventions and assists
with buying
talent for several festivals.
